Each piece is hand assembled, hand painted and released in limited quantities. All designs are made from layered resin. As designs are produced from original illustrations and are hand assembled, hand painted and hand finished, there may be minor differences from piece to piece, making each as unique as those who wear them. Metal components used in creating this piece include a beautiful and strong silver-plated steel brooch pin. Any earring posts, earring hooks, necklace chains and jump rings used for this piece are made from silver-plated steel.

CARE

Please be aware that resin is akin to ceramic and glass and therefore may be damaged if dropped or knocked. Due to the use of high-quality silver-plating in our brooch clasps, tarnishing and oxidisation can occur, producing a black and gold discolouration. As with all silver products, you can simply restore it using a silver cloth. Keep your Erstwilder companion neatly tucked away in this box when not being worn, avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, water, and excessive sunlight and you'll have a trusted friend for years to come.

Each piece is made from laser-cut and layered resin, hand assembled, hand painted and released in limited quantities. As all of our designs are lovingly glued, assembled and painted by hand, there can be very slight variations and blemishes from piece to piece. Due to the hand-mixed nature of the resins in our designs, it is also common and normal to find tiny flecks or bubbles in the resin layers. All in all, this just makes each piece as special and unique as you are.

Brooch clasps are made from plated brass. Components have changed over time and older designs may be made with other materials. If you have any questions at all, please email the team at hello@erstwilder.com.

Items must be returned within 60 days of purchase together with proof of purchase.
Items must be in their original condition with accompanying gift boxes, story cards and swing tags.
Lucky Dips, Perfectly Imperfect and Gift Cards cannot be returned.
No refunds on Embroidery Patterns.
Earrings are not able to be returned for hygiene reasons.

Magnanimous magpie

Gorgeous brooch along with 4 other Pete Cromers. Lovely rich resins and highly detailed. Goes with everything..very versatile.

Magnificent design but not-so-mag mechanism

I would rate the magpie resin brooch design a 5/5 as it is truly beautiful. Only the pin mechanism appears to be of a very cheap quality now unlike earlier Erstwilder brooches. From this Pete Cromer collection I have two brooches and I am able to pull the pin out of a closed off brooch with a little tug with my first gets. The pin also undid itself twice on my jacket while on an evening out to dinner (so I wasn’t moving around all that much). I really hope the pin design will be revolutionised to match the aesthetic quality of the brooch. I’m currently too scared to wear it for fear of losing it and reading many comments online from other people about their techniques to keep the brooches from falling off. I hope to see an improvement. Thank you!

Pete Cromer rocks!

I love my magpie, as well as the emu, cockatiel, kingfisher, galah and the red tailed cockatoo. If I get lucky and win the $50, I’ll put it to a lucky dip and hope for a fairy wren! These designs are so colourful and very Aussie.
