Marc the Maltese Mini Brooch

I have a Maltese and when I saw the Maltese dog brooch I knew I had to have it! I love brooches & the little box it came it is also adorable.

This is a story of two Maltese dogs. We brought Harley home when she was 8 weeks old. I had never had a dog before and it was instant love. We went to classes together and she eventually became a Therapy Dog. Would would visit schools and nursing homes. She was always dressed up with her hair in a top knot and bow. When she was about 9 years old, we had the opportunity to adopt Rico, also a Maltese and 11 years old. He too, was love at first sight. He was a bit smaller then she was and several of his collars had a bow tie on it. While they didn’t 'play' together, they became fast friends and were inseparable.
On October 16, 2023, we took Harley to the Vet as she had a 'cough'. We were told, it was probably a minor issue since she was 13 at that time. However, she was diagnosed with incurable lung cancer that day, and it was also my birthday.
We did everything possible to help her and several times, we really thought she could beat it. Unfortunately, Harley died on December 1, 2023 with her family, including Rico, at her side.
For Christmas, Rico’s original 'mom', got me the brooch, 'Molly the Maltese'. It reminds me so very much of my baby Harley right down to the bow on her head.
Rico, who was now 16, had a bit of dementia and a few minor issues but was doing well. Her death, as hard as it was for us, was devastating for Rico. He was just lost and lonely without her. We tried every second of the day to keep him moving and as happy and as healthy as possible. However, her loss was just too hard for him to bear and we think he just missed her too much. He left us on April 1, 2024, the day after Easter.
My heart was still so badly broken from losing Harley and to lose Rico only 4 months after, was almost unbearable.
Since I loved the 'Molly' brooch so very much, I wanted to get something for Rico’s original mom'. Shortly there after, you introduced Marc the Maltese Mini! I think it was Divine Intervention that he came out just then. I immediately bought one for her and for myself.
I wear them both together and it’s perfect since Harley was a bit bigger and had a top knot and hair bow and Rico was smaller with a bow tie. They’re just too cute together. I wear them all the time and they bring back so many wonderful memories of both of them.
I’m sorry this is so long and I’m crying now but I really think you had to know how much these mean to me. His original mom cried when she saw it.
