Bought this gorgeous horse as I'm a horse owner and rider and it's just beautiful! Now I've opened the flood gates of collecting Erstwilder!
As someone who volunteers at a conservation organisation where 70% of our animals have an endangered status or worse this collection speaks volumes. The Takhi (or Mongolian Wild Horse) had previously been declared Extinct in the Wild however conservation efforts commencing during the 1990's and continuing today have seen their status improve to Endangered. Through my volunteering I have the good fortune to see this beautiful animal every week. As much as we all love 'fun' brooches, the 'Rarest Kind' collection is a credit to Erstwilder. They have identified a number of endangered animals on this planet and by presenting them in such a beautiful fashion they become conversation starters and give us, as individuals, the opportunity to continue the discussion and promote the conservation message. I hope that future collections of this nature are considered, there are many animals and plants which need our help. We all have a role in the survival of every species.
